Our client approached us to complete a large extension and full refurbishment of his recently purchased dwelling in Burwash, East Sussex.
The brief was to extend out the side and rear to create downstairs a larger kitchen, utility room, craft room and double garage. Upstairs a large master bedroom was created along with a gym, dressing room and luxury en-suite with a hidden TV! Along with the extension the client wanted the existing house fully refurbished along with a new plumbing system which included a 2-zone heating system, a water softener, a accumulator tank, pumped flow and return on the hot water for instant hot water at all taps and a pumped incoming mains to boast the pressure throughout the house. Refurbishment included all new electrics with a fully integrated smoke and heat detectors, new alarm system and external lighting along with high spec sockets throughout. New contemporary banisters and handrail was fitted on the staircase.
Along with the refurbishment and extension the client also asked for extensive landscaping to be completed externally. The existing garden had a large lump in the garden which took your eye away from the stunning views. We removed this lump along with all the grass from the garden, a total of 200 tons of soil was removed. The existing soil was of very poor quality and thin which caused the grass to die during the summer months. Our client loves spending time in the garden, so a decent thickness of top soil was essential for them. We spread a further 250 tons of high-quality top soil across the garden along with deeper soil in the flower beds. A oak sleeper retaining wall was installed around the extension and down the garden with a new slabbed patio/path. To the front we installed a 260-metre squared block paved driveway.
All the works were completed in 8 months and the client is now enjoying his dream home, this is what he had to say…
“We required high standards on all the work and finishes in the house and this was achieved to our complete satisfaction. We recommend Bellco Construction without reservation.”
